Another Accused Arrested From UP For Murder Of Suresh Raina’s Uncle And Cousin

Mumbai: An accused has been arrested in UP’s Bareilly district in connection with the attack on cricketer Suresh Raina’s relatives in which his uncle and a cousin were killed.

Additional Superintendent of Police Satyasen Yadav said that in the joint operation of Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Punjab Police, accused Chhajju alias Chaimar has been arrested from Pachpeda village of Baheri police station area.

Three members of the gang involved in the attack were arrested in September last year.

Chhajju told the police that after the incident he fled to Hyderabad, stayed there for a while and then returned to his village in Bareilly.

The attack took place in the Thariyal village of Pathankot on the intervening night of August 19 and 20 last year. Raina’s uncle, Ashok Kumar, a contractor, died on the spot, while Kumar’s son, Kaushal, succumbed to his injuries on August 31.
