Anurag Srivastava Replace Raveesh Kumar As MEA Spokesperson

Mumbai: In another development, Senior diplomat Anurag Srivastava took charge as the spokesman of the Ministry of External Affairs on Monday, replacing Raveesh Kumar.

Srivastava, a 1999 batch Indian Foreign Service officer, served as India’s ambassador to Ethiopia.

“Honoured and privileged to take over as the Official Spokesperson of @MEAIndia. I look forward to working closely with all to fulfill my responsibilities in this new role,” he tweeted.

Before he would be appointed as the Indian envoy to Ethiopia, Srivastava was canceling the finance division of the MEA, which is tasked with giving an annual budget of around US $ 2 billion.

Srivastava served at the United Nations in Geneva for India’s Permanent Mission, where he worked on human rights, refugee issues, and trade policy. He also served in the Pakistan-Afghanistan-Iran division of the ministry at his headquarters.
