Army Better Prepared To Take On Challenges At Pak, China Borders: CDS Gen Rawat

Mumbai: The Indian Army is better prepared to face challenges on the borders of Pakistan and China, said India’s first Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) Bipin Rawat on Tuesday before stepping down as Army Chief.

Responding to an ANI question on whether the army became better equipped to meet the challenges on the borders of Pakistan and China during its three-year tenure, he said: “Yes, they are better prepared.”

General Rawat said that he is focused on restructuring and modernizing the Army.

“My focus was on army restructuring, weapon system modernization, and non-contact warfare,” he told reporters here.

General Rawat hoped that the army would achieve greater heights under the leadership of new chief General Narayan.
