Army Chief Naravane Visits Eastern Ladakh, Reviews Operational Situation

Mumbai: In his two-day visit in Ladakh, Indian Army Chief MM Naravane visited eastern Ladakh on the first day and took a review on the operational situation.

In his visit, he was accompanied by Lt Gen YK Joshi, General officer Commanding in chief, Northern Command and Lt Gen Harinder Singh, General Officer Commanding Fire and Fury Corps.

Army Chief was briefed by General Officer Commanding, Trishul Division about the prevailing situation & operational preparedness in Eastern Ladakh,” said Indian Army.

Chief also interacted with troops deployed in the Sector and complimented them for their steadfastness and high morale.

Army chief MM Naravane awarded commendation cards to the soldiers who fought with Chinese troops in face-offs in the Eastern Ladakh sector. Indian&Chinese troops have been engaged in violent face-offs in Pangong Tso lake, Finger area & Galwan river valley, said the Army.

This visit came after 20 Indian soldiers martyred in a violent face-off with the Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley, Ladakh.
