Arunachal Pradesh Reports 18 New COVID-19 Cases

Mumbai: A health department official said on Saturday that the COVID-19 caseload in Arunachal Pradesh had risen to 16,367 as 18 more people tested positive for the virus.

State Monitoring Officer (SSO) Drs. Lobsang Jampa said that on Thursday, another person increased the number of fatal diseases in the northeastern state to 55.

Six of the 18 fresh cases were from the Capital Complex area, three each from Pappare and West Kameng and one from West Siang, Lohit, East Siang, Upper Siang, Changlang, and Lower Dibang Valley districts, respectively, the SSO said.

Sixteen cases were diagnosed through rapid antigen tests and two were detected through True Net tests.

He said that all the people, except seven patients, are asymptomatic and are shifted to COVID Care Center.

Twenty-six more people were recovered from COVID-19, taking the total number of recoveries in the state to 15,561.

The official said that there are now 751 active coronavirus cases in Arunachal Pradesh. He said that the recovery rate of coronavirus patients in the state has been 95.07 percent.

Dr. Jampa said positivity and mortality rates were 4.93 percent and 0.33 percent respectively.

The state has so far tested 3,63,062 lakh samples for COVID-19, including 794 on Friday, he added.
