Arvind Kejriwal Announces 5-T Plan To Combat COVID-19 Spread In Delhi

Mumbai: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Tuesday that the state government has prepared a five-step plan – the “5 Ts Scheme” after talking to experts to control the spread of COVID-19 in the national capital in future.

“The first is T testing. If you don’t do the test, you won’t be able to find out which homes have been affected. It will happen on the outbreak. South Korea has identified every single person through a large-scale test. We are doing now. We are going to do a large-scale test like South Korea, “the chief minister said.

He stated that countries that had not tested were unable to control the spread of COVID-19.

“We have ordered kits to test 50,000 people. The arrival of the kits has begun. We have also ordered rapid trials of 100,000 people. Delivery of the kits will begin by Friday. Detailed testing will also be done, ”Kejriwal said.

“The second tee is tracing. We have a very skilled team of officers and doctors who identify people and keep them in self-quarantine. Tracing is being done at a very good level in Delhi and now we have started taking help from the police as well to check if the people who have been traced are staying under self-quarantine,” he added.

The Chief Minister said that till now the government has given contact numbers of 27,702 people for tracing. He said that a person’s movement can be tracked through their phone.

CM Kejriwal said, “Today we are going to give phone numbers to 2000 people who were roaming around the vicinity of Markaz to find out. The areas they visited will be sealed and monitored.”

He said, “Our third T is treatment, if someone gets infected with COVID-19, then we have to provide treatment to that person. Delhi has 525 positive COVID-19 cases so far and we have a system of 3,000 beds.”

The fourth T is teamwork without which no one can deal with the coronavirus crisis, the chief minister said.

“I am really happy that all the state governments are working as a team, rising above politics. The people of these countries and all governments should work together. We should learn from each other. Doctors and nurses are essential members of this family. We have to protect them in any way, they are our soldiers and we need to take care of their families, “said CM Kejriwal.
