Auto-Rickshaw Fare Increased In Delhi From Today, Per km Charge Raised From Rs 8 to Rs 9.5

Mumbai: Auto-rickshaw fare increased from today, as it was notified by the Delhi government on June 12.

Under the revised rates, the meter down charge will be 25, for the first 1.5 km instead of the existing 2 km. The increase in charges per km has been increased from ₹ 8 to 9.5, extra 50 for luggage, 7.50 and waiting charge is 0.75 per minute if auto gets stuck in traffic.

This step will affect the owners and drivers of more than 90,000 auto-rickshaws in the national capital, who played an important role in the rise of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Auto-rickshaw drivers will be able to charge revised rates after the necessary re-calibration of the fare meter. A senior official of the Department of Transportation said, in more than 90,000 autos registered in Delhi, the re-calibration of the meter will take approximately 1.5 months.

The notification on the revised rent structure was sent to the State Transport Authority (STA) by the Transport Department. After the delay in issuing the notification, the officials said that the approval for the approval of the Lieutenant Governor was needed.

After the opinion of the law department, it was issued on the approval of Mr. Gehlot that it was not required for the Lieutenant Governor.
