Australia Ropes Mitchell Marsh And Josh Hazelwood As A New Vice Captains

In a recent development Australian cricket board has roped Mitchell Marsh and pace baller Josh Hazelwood as a vice captains for there upcoming two match test series against Pakistan.

The duo was selected through the voting by team members, and final decision was made by the selection panel.  We will see it for the first time where two player will be serving as vice captains of the national side.

The main objective behind the appointments of two players as vice captains is to drive the team towards achieving their goal and objective says selection chief Trevor Hohns.

Marsh and Hazelwood are ready to assist newly appointed coach Justin Langer and also new skipper Tim Paine in their journey ahead further he added.

Cricket.com.au quoted Hohns by saying “It was not a process designed to find the next Australian Test Captain, but to find two vice-captains who will support and help drive the team’s goals and objectives,” Hohns explained. Justin Langer and Tim Paine have a clear vision for the Test team, and Josh and Mitch are invested and ready to support the coach and captain on this journey.

“We believe the new leadership model will best support the captain. It is a successful model used across various sporting codes wound the world,” Hohns added.

“I’m very proud,” Marsh told cricket.com.au in Dubai shortly after his appointment was confirmed to the Test squad. “We’ve been through this process over the last couple of months as a team and to have my teammates vote me in and myself into this position, I’m very proud. Hopefully I’ll do the job justice.”

This will be first test match for Austrailia after the infamous ball tampering scandal during their third test match against South Africa at New Lands. The test match against Pakistan will go on floor from October 7 at Dubai and second match will be played at Abu Dhabi beginning on October 16.
