Babies Don’t Change Diapers As Frequently As PBKS Change Their Playing XI: Sehwag

Mumbai: Former Indian cricket legend Virender Sehwag feels that it is a challenge to predict Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) playing XI as the KL Rahul-led side makes frequent changes to its lineup.

Stating that Chris Gayle, Nicholas Pooran, Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul can win matches for Punjab with Willow, Sehwag feels Punjab’s bowling department needs to be strengthened.

The former cricketer further said that Chris Jordan is an overseas player who can bowl in the death overs as well as score runs from the willow for Punjab Kings.

“It is difficult to predict their XI as he has changed his bowling so many times in the first seven matches that it doesn’t count. What they play and with whom they play will remain a challenge for Punjab Kings. But still, I would like them to keep their bowling strong,” he said.

Because if their batting clicks – with Gayle, Pooran, Agarwal and Rahul, if they score, they can help the team win on their performance. In such a situation, it is important to keep his bowling strong. If they want an overseas fast bowler, Chris Jordan is the one who can bowl at the death and also score,” Virender Sehwag said in a chat on Cricbuzz.

Sehwag concluded by stating that even babies would not change their diapers as frequently as the Punjab side tinkers with their playing combination.

“I would still say that Rajasthan Royals are a bit more settled. Punjab Kings change their XI a lot more. For RR, since they do not have too many top players this time around, they have no other option than to change. They had this system where they would give a player 2-3 matches before changing but Punjab Kings kept changing after every 1-2 games. Even babies do not change diapers as frequently as Punjab Kings change their Playing XI,” concluded Sehwag.

Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul innings of 67 and 49 respectively for the Punjab Kings went in vain as their middle order failed them miserably after such a good start. A sensational last over by Kartik Tyagi saw Rajasthan Royals defeating PBKS by 2 runs.
