Babri Masjid Case: Special Court To Record Statements Of Joshi, Advani & Uma Bharti On 4th June

Mumbai: Special CBI court hearing the Babri Masjid demolition case in Lucknow will record statements of accused high profile BJP leaders including LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, and Uma Bharti on 4th June.

The statements will be recorded under the 313 CrPC section, giving them a chance to claim innocence.

Earlier this month, the Supreme court had asked the Lucknow special CBI court to finish the hearing in Babri Masjid demolition case by 31st August 2020.

“Having taken the letter dated 6th May 2020 into consideration, we extend the period to complete evidence and deliver judgment by 31st August 2020,” said a bench Justice RF Nariman back then.

Babri Masjid was demolished on 6th December 1992, after which communal riots in Mumbai back then Bombay took place claiming almost 800 lives.
