Mumbai: Ayushmann Khurana’s latest release of Bala is off to a good start, has earned Rs 10.15 crore on Friday. The Amar Kaushik directorial is a comedy film that deals with the problem of premature baldness. The movie also stars Bhumi Pednekar, Yami Gautam and Saurabh Shukla among others.
With back to back hits, Ayushman Khurana has become one of the most lucrative of the Hindi film industry and Bala will be another glorious addition to Ayushmann’s box office record.
Ayushmann plays a prematurely balding man in the film. He hopes to find the right women for himself but his thining her pose a problem. Yami Gautam plays the girl he is after and Bhumi Pednekar plays a dark girl struggling to fit in a society obsessed with fair skin.
The film arrived on the heels of a similar film Ujda Chaman, which also became a cause of big controversy.
However, box-office predictions and reactions of critics show that Bala is likely to surpass Ujda Chaman in terms of box office numbers.
