Banaras Is Giving New Direction To India: PM Narendra Modi

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the Golden Mahamandir on Tuesday afternoon to attend the 98th birth anniversary celebrations of Sadhguru Sadfaldev Vihangam Yoga Sansthan. He was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Appreciating the development works in his constituency, Modi said the city is “giving a new direction to the country” by embracing the novelty of the old. He said that the development of Banaras is also having a positive impact on visitors.

He said, “The number of tourists visiting here has doubled in 2019-20 as compared to 2014-15. In the COVID-19 period of 2019-20, more than 30 lakh people came and went from Babatpur airport alone.

Modi, who visited the Banaras railway station late on Monday, also mentioned the development works done there.

BJP’s Twitter handles quoted him as saying, “The beautification work done in Goudoliya is worth seeing.”

“The beautification work that has been done in Gaudolia has become a sight to behold,” the BJP Twitter handle quoted him as saying.

Addressing the program at Swarved Mahamandir Dham in Umrah, Modi urged people to take some resolutions – to give momentum in the next two years – to Sadhguru’s resolutions as well as the wishes of the country.

“One resolution can be this – we have to educate the daughter, develop her skills too. Along with their families, those who can take responsibility in the society, they should also take the responsibility of skill development of one or two poor daughters,” he said.
