Bangladesh Touring Pakistan Will Cause Problems For India: Rashid Khan

Pakistan will next be seen in action when they tour the Netherlands for a three-match ODI series starting from July 4

Mumbai: After Pakistan successfully hosted Sri Lanka across formats in 2019, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is not too keen on touring Pakistan for the longest format of the game and is holding back for a Test series in Pakistan.

BCB has given permission to play T20I series against Pakistan but wants to play Test series at a neutral venue.

Former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Khan has said that Bangladesh visiting Pakistan for the Test series will create new problems for India as it will be played under the banner of ICC World Test Championship and Men in Green are favourites to win the series and This may reduce the difference in points in the ICC World Test Championship standings.

Khan further said that India might not want Pakistan to urge the International Cricket Council (ICC) to reduce the difference in points in the ICC WTC mark table to ensure the tour as per the schedule.

He said, “Bangladesh’s Pakistan tour will create problems for India as the home team has a good chance of winning the series. This will reduce the difference in points at the ICC World Test Championship and India may not want to do so. I think the ICC should intervene and ensure that the tour goes ahead, ”Rashid Khan quoted The Daily Star as saying.
