Mumbai: Congress recently commented on the Prime Minister’s Fit India Movement saying that the PM was promoting Fit India Movement whereas there is unfit economy and unfit government (in the country) when asked for Finance Minister’s comments on this Sitharaman said that the current government is far from being unfit.
She said the Congress leaders first take a glance at what they have done when they were in power and then put allegations on the current situation. She said, “When Congress was in power for ten years there was a double-digit inflation feature. There was inflation in all sectors and food inflation was skyrocketing.”
She said during those times the Congress government did not even try to calm the crisis instead they let the country fall into an economic turmoil. She said, “Congress didn’t even pretend to avoid or take action on the crisis. In that case, they should take advice from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
Sitharaman said that all the scandals relating to mineral scandal or any other scandal that has taken place has improved the economy of the congress leaders and not the economy of the country.
When asked about the prevailing bank frauds in the country the Union FM said that the reason why the bank fraud is so prevalent is that Congress has supported it all along.
“Thanks to Congress the bank frauds became a thing in the country. The telephone banking is totally a congress ‘ki den’ and till today the burdens of NPAs has felt due to the indiscreet lending by the then dispersion is what is bogging up a lot of banks even today. Congress has messed up with banks.” said Nirmala Sitharaman.
