Bareilly: 19-Year-Old Dalit Girl Gang-Raped While She Was On Ride With 2 Friends

Mumbai: In a shocking incident, a 19-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly gang-raped by six persons in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.

The incident happened on May 31 when the girl was going on a scooty with her two friends. However, a case was registered on Saturday, when the girl approached the local police.

Reportedly, the girl remained silent about the incident for fear of social stigma. The survivor, who is a class 11 student, was sent for medical examination and his report is awaited.

On May 31, the girl and her two male friends had left the scooty. Reportedly, the trio stopped at a temple and started talking to each other. Meanwhile, two persons started misbehaving with the teenager and pushed her friends when they raised an objection, The Indian Express reported.

The accused beat up the girl’s friend till he lost consciousness. After this, the accused dragged the girl to a nearby field and gang-raped her. Thereafter, the accused fled the spot after threatening the 19-year-old girl of dire consequences.

When the girl came back home, her friend came to her senses and did not tell her ordeal to anyone. The girl’s sister saw that she was upset and confronted her.

After this the girl shared her ordeal with her sister and a complaint was lodged. The survivors shared the names used by the accused to address each other.
