Mumbai: The Bihar government has unveiled a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening the state’s education system, with a focus on improving learning outcomes, reforming examinations and enhancing student welfare.
Announcing the measures, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said the government is committed to making education in the state more qualitative, transparent and student-centric. The new initiatives are designed to improve academic standards, ensure fair assessment practices and create a more responsive educational framework.
One of the key decisions is the formation of a state-level committee on quality education, which will work towards ensuring that quality learning reaches every school across Bihar. The committee will focus on transforming schools into centres of excellence and continuously improving students’ learning levels through targeted interventions and monitoring mechanisms.
In another major step, the government has constituted a state-level examination reforms committee to modernise and strengthen the examination system. The panel will recommend measures to make examinations more transparent, fair and efficient. It will also explore the use of technology and artificial intelligence in board examinations, competitive tests and classroom assessments to better evaluate students’ knowledge, understanding and analytical skills.
The Bihar government has also announced the organisation of special collaboration camps aimed at gathering feedback and suggestions on education reforms. These camps will facilitate direct interaction between students and policymakers, including the Chief Minister, ministers, Members of Parliament and MLAs. The initiative seeks to address concerns on the ground and incorporate stakeholder feedback into policy decisions.
To further strengthen support for students, the government plans to establish dedicated directorates for student welfare across relevant departments. These bodies will focus on improving coordination among departments and ensuring the effective implementation of student-centric schemes and initiatives.
The Chief Minister said these reforms reflect the government’s commitment to creating a robust education ecosystem that not only enhances academic quality but also prepares students for future challenges through innovation and modern assessment methods.
The announcements are expected to play a significant role in shaping Bihar’s education landscape and improving opportunities for students across the state.
