The celebration of Uttar Pradesh Foundation Day started in the year 2017 only when the Governor of Uttar Pradesh Ram Naik suggested celebrating 24 January as Uttar Pradesh Day.

Subsequently, in 2018, Uttar Pradesh celebrated its foundation day for the first time in 68 years of Indian independence. When India got independence from the British Raj in 1947, it was still a country made up of different provinces.

Gradually different small provinces came together to form states. And on 24 January 1950, the United Provinces was officially renamed Uttar Pradesh and got statehood. Known as one of the largest states of India, Uttar Pradesh is attracting everyone’s attention especially during the preparations for the 2022 assembly elections.

The Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh will be held in seven phases starting on February 10 and the counting of votes will be held on March 10.
