BJP Promises INR 2,100 Under Ladki Bahin, Farm Loan Waiver In Maha Poll Manifesto
Mumbai: Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the BJP’s manifesto for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections in a high-profile event in Mumbai today. The gathering featured senior party leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Mumbai BJP President Ashish Shelar, and Union Minister Piyush Goyal.
BJP’s manifesto, crafted under the guidance of Senior BJP Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, who chaired the committee for its development, lays out ambitious plans for the state’s progress, pledging growth and stability under the current Mahayuti government. The “vision document” emphasizes the BJP’s dedication to Maharashtra’s development and India’s economic trajectory, with a goal to elevate the country to a five trillion-dollar economy.
Key Initiatives: Farmers, Women Empowerment, and Healthcare
The manifesto introduces several programs aimed at supporting farmers, empowering women, and improving healthcare. Among these is the Mission Olympics 36, designed to foster sports talent in the state, and the Ladki Behen Yojana, which focuses on initiatives for women’s welfare. Shah emphasized these programs as central to fostering dignity and security in Maharashtra, pledging to uphold the aspirations of the people.
Shah noted the deep connection between Maharashtra’s history of reform and progress, stating, “Maharashtra has always led the way for an independent India and for social reform… This manifesto embodies the spirit of Maharashtra.” He stressed that the BJP’s commitment is to honour every promise of post-election victory and create a safe and secure Maharashtra.
Fadnavis Highlights Development Achievements
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reiterated BJP’s commitment to development, revealing a report card of the Mahayuti government’s achievements. He underscored major programs, including the Bhavantar Yojana aimed at better pricing for agricultural inputs and direct fund transfers to farmers post-election. Fadnavis also announced a promise to generate employment for 25 lakh individuals, regulate prices for life-saving medicines, and improve healthcare affordability.
Political Jabs at Opposition
The launch event also included pointed criticisms of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance. Shah issued a challenge to Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray, asking if he could prompt Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to commend freedom fighter Veer Savarkar or even inspire positive remarks from any Congress member regarding Balasaheb Thackeray.
Election Timeline
With the Maharashtra assembly polls scheduled for November 20, voting will determine the future of all 288 constituencies, with results set to be announced on November 23. The BJP’s manifesto launch follows the release of the Congress manifesto on November 6, heating up the competition as the election date draws near.
