The minister said that the BJP-led central government has constructed the Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressways, which has helped reduce pollution in Delhi by stopping traffic not being bound for the capital.
He said that in April this year, the 16-lane Delhi-Meerut highway would be inaugurated, which would reduce travel time between Delhi and Meerut by about 45 minutes.

Work is also going on on the Delhi-Mumbai highway, which will be the world’s largest highway. Within three years, the construction of the highway will be completed and the people of Delhi will be able to reach Mumbai by road in just 12 hours.

Voting will be held in Delhi on February 8, with results due to be announced three days later on February 11. The main contest in Delhi is between the ruling Aam Aadmi Party, the BJP and the Congress. Opinion polls have put the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP in driver’s seat.
