BJP Will Be Responsible If Anything Happens: Raut On Al-Qaeda’s Threat

Mumbai: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said BJP will be responsible if anything happens in the country after Al-Qaeda in Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) threatened to carry out suicide attacks in Delhi, Mumbai, UP and Gujarat.

“Everything was fine in the country, but the BJP spokesperson wanted a fight between people from two different religious communities. If anything happens in this country, BJP will be held responsible,” he was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

He continued: “We will continue to do our job… but when will they take cognizance of the people who are doing all this?” Also Read: Country Faced Embarrassment Due To BJP: CM Thackeray On Prophet Remark Row

Raut’s remarks came days after al-Qaeda allegedly issued a letter threatening suicide attacks in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Mumbai and Delhi. It warned that “saffron terrorists must now await their end in Delhi and Bombay and in UP and Gujarat”.

In an apparent reference to the controversial comments of now suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma, AQIS reportedly said that they insulted and defamed the Prophet and his wife in “the most disgusting and worst way on an Indian TV channel”.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police registered a case against several people, including Nupur Sharma, under various provisions for spreading hate messages, inciting groups and creating an atmosphere injurious to the maintenance of public peace.
