Blaming Congress For Instability In Maharashtra Is Meaningless: Sanjay Nirupam

Mumbai: Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam has lambasted on people who are blaming Congress for the instability is meaningless, he said the “failure” of the BJP and Shiv Sena which has brought the state on the doorstep of President’s rule.

Nirupam tweeted, “There is no moral responsibility to form a government in Maharashtra. It is futile to blame any of us for instability. It is the failure of BJP and Shiv Sena that has brought the state to the threshold of President’s rule.” #Mamarapoliticalcrisis.

This comes after the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Tuesday held its ally Congress responsible for causing a delay in taking a decision regarding lending the alliance’s support to Shiv Sena for the government formation in the state and said that a decision for the ‘stability’ in the state will be taken collectively.

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Monday evening asked NCP chief Sharad Pawar to indicate his party’s will and ability in the assembly elections, which finished third to form the government in Maharashtra.
The Shiv Sena, which is keen to make its chief minister in the state, did not get additional time from the Governor to submit a letter of support from Vikas NCP and Congress.

The BJP, which emerged as the single largest party in the Maharashtra assembly elections with 105 seats, refused to form the government after differences with the Shiv Sena, which secured 56 seats on power-sharing.

The NCP has 54 MLAs, while its ally Congress has 44. The majority figure in the 288-member Maharashtra Legislative Assembly is 145.
