BMC Announces 10% Water Cut Across Mumbai Starting From Today
Mumbai: The BMC has announced a 10% water cut in Mumbai from December 1 to 5 to facilitate urgent repairs to the pneumatic gate system at Pise, a critical water distribution point.
This repair work will also affect areas served by the BMC’s pipeline network, including the Thane and Bhiwandi Municipal Corporations.
The pneumatic gate system, essential for regulating water flow at Pise, requires immediate attention due to a malfunction in its air bladders.
The repair work, scheduled to begin on December 1 and expected to be completed by December 2, is crucial for restoring the system’s functionality. To accommodate these repairs, a temporary reduction in water supply is necessary.
Residents of Mumbai, Thane, and Bhiwandi are urged to use water judiciously during this period to minimize the impact of the reduced supply.
