BMC Polls: Elections Will Be Held Next Year If COVID Situation Is Under Control, Says Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar

Mumbai: Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar gave a statement on the BMC election on Tuesday. Addressing the media, Pednekar said that BMC elections will be held in January-February next year if the situation of COVID19 remains under control.

However, she also mentioned that if the cases don’t decline, the polls will be postponed.

Pednekar also gave information about the vaccination campaign in the state. When asked about the BMC allowing vaccination for students going abroad and increasing the spacing of the second dose, Pednekar said, “Vaccination works as per the Centre’s guidelines. Our CM will find a solution by talking to the departments concerned.”
