Bois Locker Room’ Case: 15-Year-Old Boy Held In South Delhi, Investigation Under Process

Mumbai: In a recent development in ‘Bois Locker Room’ case Delhi police Cyber Cell has filed an FIR following a complaint about a private Instagram group, teenage boys from Delhi discussed girl’s body party’s and shared their photos.

Meanwhile, The Indian Express reported that a 15-year-old boy has been arrested by the police and further investigation is under process.

Indian Express quoted a senior police officer saying“On Monday, we found out that the administration of a prominent private school had filed a complaint at Saket police station.”

The group named ‘Bois Locker Room’ had been shared widely on Twitter and Instagram on Sunday. The Cyber Cell then took suo moto cognizance of the matter and filed an FIR.

The officer said, “In their complaint, the school authorities requested the police to investigate the incident. Police, using technical surveillance, obtained the registered number of a 15-year-old man who allegedly shared a photo on the group. His phone was switched off. After finding his address, he was apprehended on Monday evening. “

Police have so far found that some students from schools in South Delhi formed an Instagram group in the last week of March and started adding their friends. “Some members are in college. Some teen allegedly started sharing photos posted by schoolgirls on their Instagram account, and passed sexually explicit comments, ”an official said, adding that the alleged chat also included threats of sexual violence.

DCP (Cyber Cell) Anyesh Roy told The Indian Express, “After we came to know, we registered an FIR under Sections 465 (forgery), 471 (using as genuine a forged document or electronic record), 469 (forgery for purpose of harming reputation), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and Sections 67 (publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) and 67A (publishing or transmitting of material containing sexually explicit act in electronic form) of the IT Act. We are probing the matter and collecting all technical evidence.”

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief, Swati Maliwal also took notice of the group and issued notices to the Delhi Police as well as Instagram. She said that all the culprits should be arrested to give a tough message.

Swati Maliwal took to Instagram and wrote, “DCW has issued notice to Instagram and Delhi Police in the matter of a group named “boys locker room” being used by some miscreants to share objectionable pictures of minor girls and planning illegal acts such as gangrape of minor girls. All the people involved in this act should be immediately arrested and a strong message needs to be given out.”
