Bollywood Celebs Reacts To Supreme Court Decision Over Ram Janmabhoomi, Urges To Maintain Peace In Country

Mumbai: Supreme Court delivered its verdict on the Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi case on Saturday. The apex court said that the disputed site in Ayodhya would be given to Hindus to construct a Ram Temple, while 5 acres of land at an alternate site within Ayodhya will be given to the Sunni Waqf Board. Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi pronounced the ‘unanimous’ judgment in the decades-old case on Saturday morning, as calls for peace and calm reverberated across the nation on social media.

Bollywood celebrities welcomed the decision of Supreme Court over Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid. Some of the Bollywood celebs took social media and urged their fans to respect the Supreme Courts decision and maintain peace to build a better tomorrow.

Filmmaker, actor, writer and singer Farhan Akhtar were one of the first celebs to react to the judgement. He tweeted, “Humble request to all concerned, please respect the Supreme Court verdict on #AyodhyaCase today. Accept it with grace if it goes for you or against you. Our country needs to move on from this as one people. Jai Hind.”

Vivek Oberoi shared an image of Mahatma Gandhi with a quote on it and read, “No one could have said it better than the great father of our nation! Let us honour the Mahatma by keeping peace and staying united always”.

The quote read, “By ‘Ramrajya’ I do not mean Hindu Raj. I mean by ‘Ramarajya’ Divine Raj, the Kingdom of God. For me, Rama and Rahim are one and the same deity. I acknowledge no other God but the one God of truth and righteousness.”

The five-judge Supreme Court bench led by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi read out a unanimous judgment and ruled in favour of the Ram Janmabhoomi and said there will be Ram Mandir at the disputed site and Muslims will be given an alternate 5 acre land for their mosque.
