Bombay High Court Allows Kangana Ranaut To Add Sanjay Raut As Party In Office Demolition Case

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Tuesday allowed Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut to join Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut and the officer who passed the demolition order of his Mumbai office in the case.

A division bench of Justice SJ Kathawala and Justice RI Chagla adjourned the case till tomorrow.

The Brihanmumbai Metropolitan Municipality (BMC) recently filed another affidavit in the High Court opposing Ranaut’s plea against the demolition and seeking Rs 2 crores in damages.

The High Court earlier this month stayed the demolition drive being run by BMC on Ranaut’s property. Ranaut, through his lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui, had moved the High Court against the demolition of what the BMC described as an “illegal change” in his office.

The BMC began demolishing parts of its office earlier this month in Pali Hills, Mumbai, for which it was claimed that they were unauthorized changes.

The demolition took place when Ranaut is engaged in a bitter war of words with Raut after his remarks that she feels insecure in Mumbai and the Mumbai Police has no faith after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
