Budget Session 2021: Matter Of Pride That India Is Running The Biggest Vaccination Program Says Kovind

Mumbai: Addressing a joint sitting of both houses of Parliament today, President Ram Nath Kovind said holding joint session of Parliament amid coronavirus pandemic is essential.

“Joint session of Parliament amid Corona pandemic is essential. It’s a new yr & a new decade & we’re also entering into the 75th yr of independence. Today all MPs are present here with message & trust that however tough be the challenge neither we nor India will stop,” Ram Nath Kovind said.

“It is a matter of pride that India is running the biggest vaccination program in the world. Both vaccines of this program are made in India. In this crisis India shouldered its responsibility towards mankind & provided lakhs of doses of vaccines to several nations,” Kovind said.

The further president said that “I am satisfied that the timely decision taken by my Government saved the lives of lakhs of citizens. Today the number of new COVID cases is going down rapidly. The number of recoveries is very high.”

The opposition is boycotting the President’s address and is holding a silent protest at Vijay Chowk in solidarity with protesting farmers.

In the meantime, the BJP sharply attacked opposition parties for their decision to boycott the President’s address to Parliament, alleging “constitutional and moral bankruptcy”.
