Mumbai: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday suggested that she could be the party’s CM candidate for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh elections.
When asked if she is the CM face, she replied, Priyanka Gandhi with a smile on her face said, “Are you seeing any other face from the Congress? Then?” “Then you are the CM face for the Congress?” “Dikh toh raha hai na sab jaga mera chehra (My face can be seen everywhere).”

If it is any indication that Priyanka Gandhi may contest, she will be the first member of the Gandhi family to contest a state assembly election.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, Priyanka Gandhi initially decided to contest from PM Modi’s Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi, but then decided against it.
After assuming the command of the state, Priyanka is focusing on Uttar Pradesh and has made women empowerment one of the main agendas of Congress.
Although Priyanka can still be the CM face without contesting elections. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and former CM Akhilesh never contested state assembly elections and this year’s election is likely to be a debut for both.
