Mumbai: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday said he was not going to get vaccinated against the coronavirus disease “for now” because he cannot trust the “BJP’s vaccine”.
According to news agency ANI, Akhilesh Yadav said, “I am not going to get vaccinated for now. How can I trust BJP’s vaccine? When our government will be formed, everyone will get a free vaccine. We cannot take the BJP’s vaccine.”

Akhilesh Yadav’s remarks come on a day when a dry vaccination is conducted in several states across the country ahead of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout in India.
On Friday, a government-appointed expert committee recommended that the vaccine Covishield developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca should be approved for emergency use in India.
A final decision on this matter will be taken by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI).
