Mumbai: CBI on Thursday captured Trinamool Congress (TMC) Birbhum area president Anubrata Mondal from his home connection with the cattle smuggling scam.
Mondal was arrested from his home in Bolpur, West Bengal. He skipped numerous summons referring to medical problems. However, a doctor from a private hospital has made a sensational claim that he was forced to advise bed rest.
The CBI had given ten summons to Mondal however he showed up at just two events. Today, the central probe organization arrested him for not helping out it in the test. Even today, when the agency arrested him, he refused to sign the arrest memo and locked himself in the room.
This is the second huge arrest by the central agency after Partha Chatterjee, who is as of now in prison for his alleged role in the teacher recruitment scam. Anubrata Mondal is TMC’s Birbhum region president.
In June, the CBI arrested Mondal’s own protector Saigal Hossain during its test into the situation. Hossain was arrested by the agency office after a drawn-out cross-examination.
The agency official said that Hossain couldn’t give any palatable clarification to the colossal resources he possessed. “He gets proper compensation every month. We tracked down aberrations in Hossain’s forms,” an official was cited as saying by PTI.
