CBI Raids 17 Locations Linked To Lalu, Daughter In Fresh Corruption Case

Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife Rabri Yadav and their daughters Misa Yadav and Hema Yadav have been named in the FIR registered by the CBI

Mumbai: A corruption case has been registered by the Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) against former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav in connection with a recruitment scam that took place during his tenure.

As per reports, CBI raided around 17 places in Patna including Yadav’s residence on Friday.

According to sources, the case registered against the RJD leader is related to the ‘land for railway job scam’.

The CBI also raided the government residences of the Leader of Opposition in Bihar and Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son Tejashwi Yadav in Patna, Delhi and Gopalganj. RJD leaders and workers staged a dharna at many places in protest against the CBI raids.

Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife Rabri Yadav and their daughters Misa Yadav and Hema Yadav have been named in the FIR registered by the CBI.

Responding to the CBI raid, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Rohini alleged that the “raids are an excuse to intimidate the RJD leader on the issue of caste census”.

“It is an immoral policy to defame the Lalu family. The one who earned name and fame in the country and the world by giving a profit of thousands and crores in railways is being raided today by the group of people who sold the country (roughly translated),” Rohini tweeted.

Notably, Lalu Prasad Yadav was sentenced to five years in prison by a special CBI court in Ranchi earlier this year regarding the fifth fodder scam case involving the embezzlement of over Rs 139 crore by Doranda treasury.
