‘Chhapaak’ Holds Strong At Box Office. Mints 7.35 Crore On Sunday

Mumbai: Deepika Padukone’s flick ‘Chhapaak‘ which recently hit the screens, hit 7.35 crores on Sunday.

It earned 4.77 crores on its first day and garnered appreciation for its entertaining story based on the life of acid attack Survivor Lakshmi Aggarwal.

Sharing the fresh figures film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted saying, “Chhapaak sees day-wise growth, but the weekend trending is good, not great… Collects well at premium multiplexes of urban sectors mainly… Needs to trend well on weekdays for a healthy Week 1 total… Fri 4.77 cr, Sat 6.90 cr, Sun 7.35 cr. Total: ₹ 19.02 cr. #India biz.

Deepika’s performance has also been praised. The 34-year-old actor has played the role of Acid Attack Survivor under the direction of Meghna Gulzar.

It was declared tax free in two states even before its release and recently, Rajasthan also declared ‘Chhapak’ as a tax free film.
