Mumbai: India on Thursday slammed China for a dispute that it does not recognize the union territory of Ladakh as well as the state of Arunachal Pradesh. Reacting to China’s remarks, Foreign Ministry spokesman Anurag Shrivastava said that China has no locus stand to comment on internal matters.
Srivastava said, “The union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have been and remain an integral part of India. China has no place to comment on India’s internal affairs. Arunachal Pradesh is also an integral and inseparable part of India. This fact has also been clearly expressed to the Chinese side at many levels, including the highest level. ”
He added, “We hope that the countries will not comment on India’s internal affairs as much as they would expect of others.”
The Chinese spokesman said that China does not consider the Ladakh center region to be “illegally established” in India as well as in Arunachal Pradesh and has also claimed that the development of border infrastructure by India is the “root cause” of tension between the two countries.
