China Pledges To Help India In Fighting Covid-19

Mumbai: In a recent development, Chinese Ambassador to India Sun Weidong said on Friday that China would cooperate with India in fighting Kovid-19.

China in a video conference with Eurasian and South Asian countries, describing ways and methods of combating the deadly coronavirus. A delegation of Indian officials from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Ministry of External Affairs attended.

“China held a video conference on Kovid-19 with Eurasian and South Asia region. Indian officials and scientists from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs discussed efforts to counter the epidemic with Chinese counterparts.”

Earlier, the Minister of State in the Ministry of External Affairs, V Muralitharan, told the Lok Sabha in a written reply that, “The Government of India provided 15 tonnes of medical aid to China on 26 February 2020, including masks, gloves and another emergency medical equipment.”

These supplies were distributed by an Indian Air Force C-17 and included one lakh surgical masks, five lakh pairs of surgical gloves, 75 pieces infusion pumps, 30 pieces antral feeding pumps, 21 pieces defibrillators, and 4000 pieces N95 masks.
