Chirag Paswan Suspends 5 Rebel MPs From LJP Amid Reports Of His Removal As Party Prez

Mumbai: Five rebel LJP MPs, including his uncle Pashupati Paras, has been suspended from the party’s primary membership by Chirag Paswan, party leader Raju Tiwari said.

During a press conference, LJP leader Raju Tiwari confirmed that a national executive meeting was held today and it decided to remove all the 5 MPs from the party.

When asked whether Paswan has been betrayed by the rebel leaders, Tiwari said, “There is a process of working in the party. It would be called betrayal.”

Earlier in the day, the faction led by Pashupati Kumar Paras removed Chirag Paswan from the post of national president of LJP. The development comes a day after five of the six LJP MPs joined hands against the Paswan descendants.

After removing him from the post of party president, the rebel MPs said that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the principle of ‘one man, one post’.

The LJP rebels elected Suraj Bhan Singh as the new working president and election officer of LJP. He has been asked to convene the party’s national executive and conduct the election of a new president within five days.

According to reports, Pashupati Kumar Paras, who has been leading the rebellion, is most likely to be elected the new chief of the LJP in the coming days.
