Chirag Says Credibility Of Nitish Is Zero, Demands President’s Rule In Bihar

Mumbai: As soon as, Nitish Kumar submitted his resignation as CM of Bihar following terminating the ruling alliance with the BJP, former Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Chirag Paswan challenged him to face the people of the state in mid-term elections.

“He was reduced to just 43 seats in the last elections, will win zero next time,” Mr Paswan, who has been accused of conspiring with the BJP to weaken the JD(U), said. Also Read: Our Party Will Remain With NDA: RLJP President After Bihar CM Ended Ties With BJP

Accusing Nitish Kumar of insulting the mandate for the second time, Chirag Paswan also demanded imposition of the President’s rule in Bihar.

The youth leader, son of former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, said that Bihar is facing the brunt of Nitish Kumar’s arrogance. He has not done any development work in the state and has no credibility, Mr Paswan alleged, adding that no principle matters to the Bihar chief minister.

“I had warned before the Vidhan Sabha elections that Nitish Kumar ji can turn back anytime after the elections. Today, it seems that day has come,” he said.

Mr Paswan, who fielded candidates in the 2020 Assembly elections, was among many BJP rebels, all of the seats contested by the JD(U), which had carved out its position in less than 45 years from 70 five years ago. See, yesterday he died in this tenure. “Chirag model” coined by the party’s current national president Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan.

Referring to Lalan Singh’s allegation, Paswan said he himself had told the BJP that he wanted to contest alone as he “cannot work with Nitish Kumar at any cost”.

He said, “Nitish Kumar had not only insulted my father but also pushed the entire Bihar into darkness. I fought against him because I had vowed to do so.”
