Civilian Trainer Plane Crash, Pilot injured

Mumbai: In an shocking incident, Four-seater aircraft used for civil aviation training on Tuesday crashed into Pune district, causing trainee pilot injured said police officials.

The incident took place near Rui village in Indapur talukahours after its take-off from the Baramati-based Carver Aviation academy, police said, adding that a technical snag may have caused it.

The Cessna 172S Skyhawk (VT-RDX) aircraft was related to Aviation Academy, this afternoon, crashed on its nose in an open field near Rui village said police officials.

The proper reason behind the crash has not been identified till now, the officer said, Trainee pilot, Siddharth Titus, who was flying on a single flight, got a fracture in his right hand.

After the incident, the locals took Titus to a nearby clinic, where he was given medical aid, before transferring Baramati to the hospital. His condition has now been told to be stable.

Meanwhile, the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) has launched an investigation into the incident.
