CJI Harassment Case: Victim Appeals For Diismissal Against Ranjan Gogoi From Supreme Court

Mumbai: Its all about drama as the sexual harassment row surrounding Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, the former Supreme Court staffer who levelled the charges of sexual harassment against the CJI will soon file an appeal to the CJI himself against her dismissal from the apex court.

This has been confirmed by the legal team of the prosecutor, including senior advocates Vrinda Grover and Prashant Bhushan.

Ranjan Gogoi will be the first CJI to be chaired by the Supreme Court’s leisure bench till 25-30 May and in all probability, the petition can be filed on or before. Such an appeal mechanism is available under service rules.

This panel included Justice SA Bobde, Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice Indu Malhotra. Justice Malhotra was included in the panel after Justice NV Ramana got close to CJI Gogoi after the complaint of the woman.

The panel said in its report, “The In-House Committee has not found any substance in the allegations contained in the complaint of a former employee of the Supreme Court of India on April 19, 2019.”

The three-judge In-House Justice Bobde Committee gave a clean chit on May 6 after Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi examined the allegations of sexual harassment against him.
