Class 10 Karnataka Girl Gives Birth To Baby, 34-Yr-Old Man Arrested
Mumbai: Police have arrested a 34-year-old man on charges of raping a minor girl studying in Class 10 after she gave birth to a baby girl in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada, police said.
The arrested person has been identified as Keshav, a resident of Madmittinaru village near Uppinangadi town. The accused was arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO).
The parents were not aware that their daughter was having a physical relationship with the accused person. He suspected that he had a tumour in his stomach and was admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru.
The doctors who examined her found that the girl was pregnant. Later, the minor girl gave birth to a baby girl. The matter was brought to the notice of Uppinangadi Police. After interrogation, the minor girl told the police about the accused Keshav. Police arrested the accused by registering a case of rape under the POCSO Act.
