CM Mann Should Apologise To Moosewala’s Parents: Warring

Mumbai: Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring said Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann must own moral responsibility for Sidhu Moosewala’s death and apologise to his parents.

Waring said in a statement that it is up to the Punjab government in general and the chief minister, in particular, to explain to the people of Punjab why the security was lifted in the first place and why it was reinstated when it was withdrawn.

“It means something was wrong somewhere,” he remarked, asking, “Will the chief minister take moral responsibility for the grave lapse, after all, he is also the home minister and apologize to Moose Wala’s parents.”

The PPCC president said the state government’s claims of a cut in security due to the anniversary of Operation Bluestar also have no basis as Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has security material along with 80 Punjab Police commandos and 50 commandos of Raghav Chadha. Why was his security not cut in view of the anniversary of Operation Bluestar? He asked.

In view of the continuing “deteriorating” law and order situation in the state, the Congress on Friday called a meeting of all opposition parties in Punjab to develop a joint strategy and save the situation from reaching the point of no return.

A joint meeting of opposition parties including Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Samyukta Akali Dal, CPI, CPI(M), and BSP is to be held in Punjab Bhawan. A statement issued by Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC)

“All the parties have agreed to meet on Friday and take measures to hold the government accountable, particularly on the issue of law and order. This has been necessitated by the daily incidents of killings, loot and robbery in Punjab that has led to a sense of fear and insecurity among people,” it said.
