CM Yogi Adityanath Launches ‘Mission Shakti’ In UP To Tackle Crime Against Women

Mumbai: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday claimed that the culprits of crimes against women will be punished faster as there will now be a separate room for women complainants in 1,535 police stations across the state.

Adityanath made this remark while launching the “Mission Shakti” program for women safety in Uttar Pradesh. Young girls demonstrated self-defense techniques during the event.

“To pay tribute to the victim of a very unfortunate incident, I decided to kick-off the Mission Shakti Abhiyan from Balrampur and I am extremely happy to launch this program. Mission Shakti aims at guaranteeing security and respect for every woman in the state,” he said.

He said, “There will now be a separate room for women complainants in 1,535 police stations across the state, where a woman police constable will join them and their complaint will be acted upon immediately. Those culprits of crimes against women were swiftly punished.”

In a tweet, the CM office said that initiatives like gender-based sensitization, training, corporate activity, voice messaging, interviews, programs in Durga Puja, and other cultural pandals should be undertaken to create greater awareness under the ‘Mission Shakti’.

The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said in a release that during the campaign to create awareness among the people and make people aware of the subject, a special campaign will be conducted every week.
