Fire tenders, five teams of NDRF and BMC Disaster Management Cell teams were immediately sent to the spot and rescue operations are in progress. It is proving hard to save people because the streets are narrow.

ANI reported that the 11 Ismail Habib building, situated in front of the ‘Kesarbai’ building, is also being evacuated as it was seen shaking.

Since the building was located in a narrow lane in a congested area, firefighters could not send earth-moving machines to the spot.

A fire official told AP that they have pulled out three people and rushed them to a hospital. He didn’t know whether they were dead or alive.
