Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi Steps Down From His Post, Tweets An Open Letter

Mumbai: Congres president Rahul Gandhi busted out as he said that he is no longer the president of the Congress party, adding that the party should decide a new chief without any delay.

“Party should decide on the new president quickly without further delay, I’m nowhere in this process. I have already submitted my resignation and I am no longer the party president. CWC should convene a meeting at the earliest and decide,” he said to media.

This comes after losing recent Lok Sabha election, notably, his resignation has not been accepted by Congress Working Committee (CWC).

In his resignation letter, he wrote, “It is an honour for me to serve the Congress Party, whose values and ideals have served as the lifeblood of our beautiful nation. I owe the country and my organisation a debt of tremendous gratitude and love.”

“As President of the Congress Party. I am responsible for the loss of the 2019 election. Accountability is critical for the future growth of our party. It is for this reason that I have resigned as Congress President,” the letter further reads.

“Thank you to all the thousands of Indian, both at home and abroad who have sent me letters and messages of support. I will, of course, continue to fight for the Congress party with all my strength,” the letter added.
