Congress Failed To Abrogate Article 370 Despite Promising It In 90s: PM Modi

Mumbai: Continuing his attack on the opposition (Congress) PM Narendra Modi accused the INC leaders of failing to abrogate Article 370 despite having promised it in Parliament in 1964.

While addressing the last day rally before the Haryana Assembly Polls, Modi said

He said, “During a debate in Parliament in 1964, the eminent leaders of the country were upset. There was a split in Congress. There was a demand that Article 370 should be repealed and the issue should be debated in Parliament.”

Addressing his second rally, Modi said, “At that time, the Congress leaders had folded their hands and said that their demands would be met and Article 370 would be scrapped in a year. But the matter was hot again.” day.

“What was the compulsion and what game was being played,” he urged the people to punish the Congress for this in the assembly elections.

He said that it was the BJP government that repealed the provisions of Section 370, while the Congress was only concerned about taking care of “two families” in Kashmir.

He alleged that he did not allow any political party to be nurtured there, claiming that the Congress and its supporters were only concerned about “chairs” and not about Kashmir.

“The border was crossed when they opposed the move (by removing Article 370) abroad, such as those behind terrorism,” he said. ”

“That’s their mentality. Those who oppose the move are asking for votes from you. You need to punish them,” he asked the people.

Modi said that the BJP government has strengthened the armed forces by bringing modern weapons, Rafale jets and bulletproof jackets for the soldiers.

“We are now producing bulletproof jackets and also exporting them to other countries,” he said, adding that the Congress government used threats by terrorists and separatists.
