“Congress Has A Huge Ego For Gathbandhan,” SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav

Mumbai: Attacking Congress party samajwadi party Chief Akhilesh Yadav said they had a big ego and believed in threatening it’s political opponents.

“Like the BJP, the Congress too believes in threatening political opponents,” he said at an election meeting in Kanpur.

“Desh mein agar samajwadion ko kabhi kisi ne dhokha diya hai toh Congress ke logon ne hume dhokha diya hai. Ye sahi hai ki humara gathbandhan tha lekin hume nahi pata tha ke Congress mein zyada ghamand hai, gathbandhan kuch nahi hota ghamand zyada badi cheez hai (If anyone has ever cheated Samajwadis, it is Congress. We have had an alliance with them but we didn’t know then that Congress has a big ego. An alliance is nothing for them while their ego is everything).”

With his explanation, Yadav tried to make it clear why his party cleared the Congress for the Lok Sabha elections during the 2017 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. The SP had fielded 298 candidates, while it gave 105 seats to the Congress.
