Congress, JMM To Contest On 70 of 81 Jharkhand Assembly Seats: Soren
Mumbai: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has announced that the INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) bloc will contest the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections together. The seat-sharing arrangement between the Congress and Soren’s Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has been finalized, with both parties set to field candidates in 70 of the 81 constituencies.

Soren revealed that seat-sharing discussions with other alliance partners, including the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Left parties, are ongoing for the remaining 11 seats. The collaborative effort among the INDIA bloc allies is aimed at presenting a united front in the crucial two-phase assembly elections, which will be held on November 13 and November 20, 2024. The counting of votes is scheduled for November 23, 2024.

“INDIA bloc will contest the Jharkhand assembly polls together. It has been decided during the seat-sharing talks with the allies that the Congress and the JMM will field candidates in 70 of 81 seats,” said Hemant Soren after a crucial meeting with alliance partners in Jharkhand.
