Congress leader Rahul Gandhi meets Sidhu Moosewala’s family
Mumbai: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday met the family of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, who was shot dead on May 29, at his village Moosa. Moosewala joined Congress in December 2021 and contested the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections from the Mansa constituency.

Several Congress leaders including Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Partap Singh Bajwa, former deputy chief minister O P Soni and other party leaders accompanied him.
Security has been tightened outside Musewala’s residence in view of Gandhi’s visit. On May 29, Moose Wala was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Mansa. Gandhi was abroad when the assassination took place and returned over the weekend.
Moosewala’s parents had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah here on Saturday. Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had also expressed grief with the family.
Senior Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa had written to CM Mann urging him to “transfer the murder case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or the National Investigation Agency (NIA) so that justice can be given to the family at the earliest.”
