Mumbai: A big embarrassment for the Congress party in Maharashtra, son of veteran leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, Sujay Vikhe Patil joined BJP.
This step is a major downside for Congress as just a month before the Lok Sabha polls.
Sujay had said earlier that if he would not get a ticket from the Congress party, he will be leading the elections all as an independent party.
During the meeting with Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, many BJP leaders were against Sujay’s entry.
Party leaders say that they first want him to do work for BJP and then to give a ticket in the Lok Sabha polls.
With Sujoy’s entry, this comes 4 Congress MLA’s from last week, from Gujarat to join BJP.
