Mumbai : Congress President, Rahul Gandhi will elect the new Chhatisgarh CM today after a meeting with the top party leaders.
The official announcement for the post of Chief Minister will be done after the meeting of the Congress Legislative Assembly (CLP) under the chairmanship of the State AIC in Chhattisgarh, Mallikarjun Kharge, the party’s Central Supervisor and PL Punia of party affairs.
“We have more than one eligible name that is why process is taking time, in any case final result came late on 11th so it has just been 4 days today. BJP which took more than 7-8 days to appoint its recent CMs should not comment on us” told news agency ANI on Saturday.
This is the third round of discussion that Congress President is organizing the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister before selecting where the party has entered into power with a two-thirds majority after 15 years.
Congress nominated Ashok Gehlot the next Chief Minister of Rajasthan after organizing several discussions for two days on Friday. In Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath was declared as the next Chief Minister on December 13. Nath will take oath as Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister on December 17.
