Congress To Fight Over All 42 Seats In West Bengal For Due Lok Sabha Elections

Mumbai: Letting all the possibilities to have an alliance, Congress has announced that will compete due Lok Sabha Polls alone on all the 42 seats in West Bengal.

Congress has first announce its 25 candidates, later after 2 days it announces all the 42 parliamentary seats on Sunday.

“Left Front announced its candidates in 25 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal on March 15 without any discussion with West Bengal Congress. Due to the unyielding behaviour of CPI (M) and its ally parties in the Left Front, we are calling off the proposed seat sharing in the state and have decided to fight BJP and Trinamool Congress in Bengal with our own force,” West Bengal Congress president Soumen Nath Mitra was quoted by ANI saying.

On Friday, CPI (M) has announced its series of 25 candidates in West Bengal for due LS Polls.

Raiganj and Murshidabad which is currently held by CPI(M) were included in a list of 25 seats from which 15 seats will be fielded by CPI (M).

Left Front chairman Biman Basu said that the rest 17 seats would be contested either by the Left Front or the Congress.

A month before Mitra has stated that none of his party members or workers wants an alliance with the Trinamool Congress for upcoming Lok Sabha Polls.

Presently in West Bengal there are 4 Member of Congress in Parliament.
